Dermal fillers are injectable compounds that contain hyaluronic acid  that rejuvenate your skin by softening scars, enhancing lips, and replacing volume.

Face will be evaluated for appearance and skin tone and examine the areas of your face to be augmented. Strategic points may be marked as the appropriate injections sites for the filler. Photographs may be taken of the areas to be treated. The injection sites will be thoroughly cleansed with an antibacterial agent. Pain at the injection site by being lessened by the use of a vibrator, anesthetic ointment to numb the skin, or injection of local anesthesia. While not painless, the injections are usually well tolerated. The injections only take a few moments per site. The process of injecting, massaging, and evaluating the result is performed. Depending on the number of sites, the whole process can be as short as 20 minutes or as long as one hour. Once the results are satisfactory the markings will be cleaned, and cream will be applied to soothe the minimize bruising.

• Apply an ice or cold gel pack to the area(s) treated (avoiding pressure) as this helps reduce swelling and the potential for bruising. You may take Acetaminophen/Tylenol/Tylenol PM if you experience any mild tenderness or discomfort. Arnica tabs, Claritin, Bromelain capsules can all be taken pre/post injections and will reduce swelling and bruising. Arnica sublingual tabs – 3-5 tabs under tongue 3x/day. Once any pinpoint bleeding from the injection site(s) has subsided, you may begin wearing makeup. Bruising will generally fade in 5 to 14 days.
• Avoid placing excessive pressure on the treated area(s) for the first few hours up to 2 to 3 days.
• When cleansing your face or applying makeup, be very gentle.
• It is recommended that you sleep on your back, if possible, to avoid pressure on the treated areas.
• Avoid exercise or strenuous activities for the remainder of the treatment day; you may resume other normal activities within 3 days once swelling subsides.
• Avoid extended UV exposure or excessive heat until any redness/swelling has subsided. Be sure to apply an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen.
• Wait for a minimum of four weeks (or as directed by your provider) before receiving any skincare or laser treatments.
• For Lips Specifically, please avoid drinking hot liquids until numbing has completely worn off.
• In the unlikely event that you experience visual disturbances, excessive pain, discoloration, white appearing, “blanching” of the skin, numbness/tingling, pain radiating to other areas of the face, red lumps, or whiteheads, contact your provider immediately.
